The Hardest Button to Button

today is octoberfest. the entire campus smells like overcooked meat and an assortment of fried food. i'm going to chicago to see a cubs game and my family.

also, lawrence towed my car yesterday. from the parking lot behind plantz. they're hardcore this year so be aware of that.

college is not real life.

tonight i offered to pay my brother a sister 5 bucks each to moon my parents while we were driving in the car next to them. they did it for free.

also... my brother knows all the words to Shoop by salt n'pepper... im beginning to think he's pretty much the shit.

i'm seeing sufjan stevens in approximately 48 hours. all i can think about is what song he will open with/how hard i will freak out. holy hell. just imagine. last night annicka and i drove to the theater just to scope out the situation. it's looks alright. i plan on waiting in line for hours and standing about 4 feet from sufjan. think about it.

today i ordered a rug for school - it's backordered so i guess im all linoleum for a week or so.

carrie just refered to her double single as a "dingle". good god.

also i keep fantasizing about the new swipe card entry feature in plantz. in my mind all of plantz is going to look new and grand but i have a sinking feeling that there's just going to be a miniscule swipe pad off to the side of the door.

New York

is great. we've been having quite the enjoyable time. today's highlights include... 1.) sweet new kicks bought at a sketchy shoe store in chinatown which will be worn tomorrow with my jeans tight rolled. 2.) the empire state building where, i'm pretty sure, the square footage of the numerous gift shops far outnumbered the actual square footage of the observatory area. 3.) a very long subway ride home with a man sitting next to me looking at porn.

katie is planning our day tomorrow and it's stressing me out already. however, i'm ditching katie and going to see phantom of the opera tomorrow night. the lead probably wont be as attractive as emmy rossum (from the sub-par hollywood production of this fantastic musical) but i can hope.

the state of the union

this morning mark zukerberg threw the entire facebook community, myself included, into an absolute frenzy. what, in gods name, is going on. i do not even understand where the term "mini-feed" came from, what the shit it's supposed to mean or how im supposed to employ it's services. i have an idea- what about, maybe, giving us young adults a little warning before OR, an explanation after, changing our entire online lives all willy nilly however you want. on the other hand it is all ive talked about today and i keep logging on to check it out again which leads me to my current dilemma - is mark zukerberg crazy or a complete genius? considering my current and never waning level of dependence, i'm leaning toward genius.

today i bought pants from the mens deparment at gap. they're great and infinitely more comfortable than any pants i've ever worn. fuck women's jeans.

i just completed a game of solitare in 68 seconds and scored 10,858 points.

i really did. just think about that for a second.

anni's in denver. dallas is very lonely and as a result i've downloaded almost 200 dollars worth of music off itunes. and i've only been awake since 3:30. apparently there's this website run by the russian mob where you can download an entire album for a buck; which is appealing. although, the whole mob affilition is a little nerve-racking for me, personally.

dragon force is this fall's party jam... take my word on it.

this afternoon my mom brought me some clean clothes and while placing them neatly on my bed asked me nonchalantly if i was sneaking my "water pipe, bong or contraband" out to the back yard at night in my "shoulder bag". i was beyond shocked. i mumbled some nonsencical response while she smiled and said over her shoulder on the way out of my room, "you're not fooling us, Caitlin." holy god.

also it's my dad's birthday. i bought him a large ceramic sculpture of a tape measure by some artist from california. it's pretty sweet. we're having a party for him right now and if i have to endure one more conversation where the question "sooo, are you dating anyone?" is uttered i'm going to shit.

headlights has a new cd... woo... it's not on the mob website but itunes has it and id say it's worth $9.99.
